We are looking for and attorney who can take on a big hospital. they are at fault for medical negligence and malpractice.
You want to contact a personal injury attorney who also specializes in medical malpractice. I would find the best one I could. You can get find a really good one by asking around or checking on the internet. You definitely want someone with a lot of experience in this field. Almost all personal injury lawyers have websites where they list cases they have won, etc. Most PI attorneys will take your case on contingency. All the "good" ones do. They only take cases they are sure they will win. And big hospitals have very deep pockets. That is, unless your state has caps or limits on these types of cases. If you were in Oregon, I could tell you the absolutely number one there, as I used to work for him. If not, then I would contact an organization called The Inner Circle of Advocates. Only the top and best 100 personal injury attorneys in the US are invited to join.
Hope this helps.
PS And contrary to what the guy below me says about it being hard to sue a hospital or doctor, that is absolutely not true. Just look at the hundreds of HUGE awards in the first source listed below. The only problem is that because of the amount personal injury lawyers make, all lawyers want to do this type of work, and most of them are not very good at it. That guy must be a doctor or work for a hospital. It is relatively easy to win big verdicts for medical malpractice, because they screwed up!

My son recently had emergency surgery and the medical bills are absolutely enormous (in excess of $86000 AFTER insurance pay outs). The hospital has hounded me for several months now, and I have told them that I have hired an attorney for medical negligence/medical malpractice and will not pay 1 cent to them. I have provided them my attorney’s information but they will not contact them.
Understand that the previous two answers are referring to the Fair Debt Collections Act, which regulates how collection agencies/attorneys/3rd party collectors must behave. If you send them a "cease and desist" letter, they must quit all communications with you. If you tell them you have an attorney, all futher communications must be send to him.
Your problem (I think) is you are saying "the hospital" is calling. That makes them the original creditor and they are not included under the FDCA laws. In other works, you can’t effectively stop their calling and harassing you.
Follow the advice about contacting your attorney and have him deal with the hospital.

I have a chiropractic degree and want to work in medical malpractice. I want to get part time work while in school. Any recommendations? I will work for free to get experience, is that a good idea?
Have you spoken with the Career Services people at your law school? A lot of times law offices will contact the law schools directly looking for a clerk that can work 10 - 20 hours a week during the school year. The law schools generally post these offers online, email them out to their students, or hang them on a bulletin board somewhere in the school. In Missouri, where I live, these usually pay between $10 - $15 an hour, so I doubt you’ll need to work for free to get a little experience.

I need a medical malpractice lawyer or attorney in miami as soon as possible but dont know where to start looking. Any recommendations?
I agree the bar is a good place for referral BUT that only filters down to the specialties and does not rate them or say how good they are.
I personally know many of them but having not personally used one can only suggest that asking others about their experience is the best and please make this a real problem and not just a way to make some money. There are tons of crooked lawyers willing to take those cases.

My daughters medical condition has been wprsening fpr the ;ast cpl years due to gross neglect on the part of her last physician.
I have made dozens of calls to try a find a attorney to help us with this situation with no luck so far.
I have always had great responses from all the people on Yahoo & you are my biggest hope now. Thanks
It is hard to find a lawyer here since you would need someone who has been in your situation in your location and recommends their lawyer.
BUT, if that doesn’t happen, you can always try here.

I have a potential medical malpractice case. The statute of limitations runs out in about four months. I have a few attorneys in mind that might consider taking the case. But I’m not sure if it is considered a breach of ethics to give the medical records to several attorneys at the same time so that if the first one (or two) decline the case I have back-up. I’m thinking that attorneys incur some costs for research and records before deciding if they will take the case. What do you think?
You’re fine. Present the case to as many attorneys, simulatenously, as you like. If you’re worried about ethics, then simply TELL them all that you’re so doing. You don’t have to tell any of them who are the others, or how many others there are.
Hope that helps.
