Im an insurance agent and former insurance claims adjuster… If you were not at-fault for this accident the claimants insurance company should offer you a settlement offer for your injuries and suffering [the suffering is what we in the insurance world consider what you may call inconvenience] Before you accept a settlement offer for your injuries make sure you let the claims adjuster know that your time as been convinced as a result of their customers negligence and you would like to be reimbursed. They should offer you another $500 to $1k.

generally they pay 1.5 times the total medical for pain and suffering. So if your medical bills were $1000 an adequate settlement for pain and suffering is $1500. With you not working, it may be harder to claim though. You most likely won’t get anything except medical without an attorney though.

I don’t know of anyone ever paid for that, so if you want to be, you’ll have to sue them in court and see what the judge says.
