I was involved in an accident where I was rear ended in stopped traffic. I didn’t have insurance at the time of the accident. How will this work out. It was clearly the person behind me who was at fault.
IN most states the other persons insurance if they have any will pay, its called uninsured motorist. However if you do not have insurance then you should not be driving.

Did you get a police report showing that the other party was at fault? If so, their insurance should take care of it. But why were you driving without insurance? Please let me know next time you are in your car because I don’t want to be anywhere near you.

#1 Everything will depend entirely on the state you were in at the time of the accident. i.e. In California, you MUST have liability insurance (at the minimum) or the police can impound your car.
#2 Hopefully you had (a) a police report made; (b) Exchanged names and pertinent information with the other driver AND witnesses; (c) took pictures of damage to BOTH vehicles. This is all for self protection (like insurance). The "claim" (yours I assume) may be stalled on by the others insurance company. It also depends on if your in a "No Fault" state. Sorry I couldn’t be more specific. GOOD LUCK
